Depok, October 22, 2025 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from Islamic Village Senior High School Tangerang on Wednesday (22/10) at the Doctoral Promotion Room, FPH UI. The visit aimed to provide students with insights into the field of public health and study opportunities at FPH UI, as well as to introduce them to the academic environment and learning facilities available at the faculty.
The visit was received by FPH UI’s Education Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Head of the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Health, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si.; and Head of the Undergraduate Program in Nutrition, Dr. Fathimah S. Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D. In her opening remarks, Dr. Laila Fitria expressed appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm in learning more about FPH UI. She explained that such visits serve as an important platform to spark young people’s interest in public health. Dr. Laila also presented an overview of FPH UI’s profile, admission pathways, tuition fees, curriculum, learning methods, and facilities.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ema Hermawati introduced the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Health, explaining how this field plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance between human health and the surrounding environment. “Environmental health is a key factor in disease prevention and sustainable development. Through this program, students are equipped with analytical and practical skills to create a healthy environment for communities,” she said.
In the same session, Dr. Fathimah S. Sigit provided an overview of the Undergraduate Program in Nutrition at FPH UI. She emphasized the importance of nutrition education from an early age as a preventive measure against various health problems. “Good nutrition is the foundation of public health. We hope students can understand how nutritional science contributes significantly to building a healthy and productive society,” she explained.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to engage in discussions with the speakers about studying at FPH UI. Through this visit, it is hoped that the students of Islamic Village Senior High School gained inspiration and motivation to pursue higher education in public health and become part of the young generation committed to improving the nation’s health.
