On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a visit from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Received in Room PA212, RIK UI Building, this visit was the beginning of exploring cooperation between FPH UI and UMPSA. “This meeting was the start of discussions between FPH UI and UMPSA, after previously we only contacted via email. “Hopefully this meeting can produce useful international collaborations in the future,” said the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., in his speech.
This visit broadly discussed exploring cooperation between FPH UI and UMPSA, especially for international student exchange programs. UMPSA plans to open a student exchange program for the Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) study program with FPH UI as the host university.
“UMPSA was founded in 2009 and recently we rebranded from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) to Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). We are trying to collaborate with various universities at international level, one of which is FPH UI. “We hope to be able to carry out dual degree collaboration for K3 Bachelor students from UMPSA to FPH UI,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Prof. Madya Dr. Aizi Nor Mazila bint Ramli.
FPH UI Academic Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., and K3 Department Lecturer, Dr. Hendra, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., also welcomed the offer of cooperation. The K3 FPH UI Department is willing to accept exchange students from UMPSA for two semesters. It is hoped that this dual degree student exchange can take place early next year and the signing of the memorandum of agreement can be carried out soon. Further details regarding this dual degree student exchange program will be discussed by FPH UI, UMPSA, and the UI International Office.
