On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from the Strada Institute of Health Sciences (IIK) Kediri. A total of 70 participants, consisting of IIK STRADA’s Master’s and Doctoral students, attended a session at the FPH UI Doctoral Promotion Room to gain knowledge on Health Care Financial Management and Non-Pharmaceutical Logistics Management. The visit was received by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., along with Amila Megraini, S.E., M.B.A., and Dr. Vetty Yulianty Permanasari, S.Si., M.P.H., as the speakers.

“This visit is the latest in a series of visits from IIK STRADA to FPH UI. We hope FPH UI can meet the expectations of the participants in gaining valuable knowledge. This event can also serve as a good start for the collaboration between FPH UI and IIK STRADA,” welcomed Dean of FPH UI.

Dr. dr. Sentot Imam Suprapto, M.M., the Rector of IIK STRADA Kediri, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from FPH UI. “We hope that the University of Indonesia and FPH UI, in particular, can become a sister university for us. We invite our academic community, who come from various regions in Indonesia and even from Timor Leste, to learn and exchange information and solutions with the senior faculty at FPH UI.”

Amila Megraini, S.E., M.B.A., a Lecturer at the Department of Health Administration and Policy (AKK) and an Economist at the Center for Health Economics and Policy Studies at FPH UI, shared a lecture on Health Care Financial Management. In her presentation, Amila explained that financial management in healthcare facilities is essential due to the increasing complexity of the healthcare industry, the need for personnel to understand large amounts of data, navigate constantly changing regulations, implement new technologies, and manage operations in the new value-based care models. “Moreover, effective decision-making greatly depends on the accurate interpretation of financial information. Therefore, financial management in healthcare is extremely important,” said Amila.

Additionally, participants received a presentation on Non-Pharmaceutical Logistics Management from Dr. Vetty Yulianty Permanasari, S.Si., M.P.H., a Lecturer from the AKK Department at FPH UI. In her session, Dr. Vetty explained the definition, logistics cycle, regulations, functions of logistics management, as well as the process of monitoring and evaluating logistics management. “The logistics system itself aims to ensure efficiency, speed, and reliability in the movement and storage of goods, thereby meeting customer needs in a timely and cost-effective manner,” explained Dr. Vetty.

The participants were eager to engage in discussions with the speakers, posing various questions. The discussions not only covered theory but also practical experiences related to financial management and logistics management in healthcare services.

In addition to delivering short lectures to the IIK STRADA students, the Dean of FPH UI also engaged in discussions with the leadership of IIK STRADA, including the Rector Dr. dr.
