Depok, October 7, 2025 — Through collaboration with local governments and healthcare facilities, FPH UI concluded the series of Field-Based Learning (PBL) 1 and 2, Community Nutrition Practicum, and Environmental Health Fieldwork for the 2022 cohort online on October 7, 2025. This event reflects FPH UI’s commitment to producing graduates capable of delivering practical solutions to public health challenges while serving as a moment of reflection and appreciation for the fieldwork involving various external stakeholders in Bogor and Depok.
The closing ceremony included presentations of activity outputs in the form of posters, documentary videos, and expressions of appreciation to external partners who collaborated in the implementation of FPH UI’s PBL. This event represents a synergy between academia and the public service sector to promote healthier communities through interdisciplinary approaches in public health, nutrition, and environmental health.
In her remarks, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., emphasized that PBL provides an important platform for students to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom.
“Through PBL, students learn to adapt to real-world community conditions. There is much to learn in the field, not only for students but also for us lecturers. The topics discussed in this activity were prepared in consultation with the Bogor City Health Office. A total of 102 students were divided into 11 groups deployed in Bogor City and 14 groups in Depok City. We hope students can learn while making tangible contributions in public health, nutrition, and environmental health,” she said.
Rudy Mashudi, Head of the Bogor City Regional Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida), appreciated this collaboration as a practical example of pentahelix synergy. “We hope this experience benefits not only these 102 students but also provides valuable insights for improving public health services and programs. We look forward to receiving policy briefs as a basis for continuous improvement. The Bogor City Government is always open to continuing cooperation with FPH UI to improve community health,” he stated.
Similarly, dr. Mutmaina, representing the Depok City Health Office, highlighted the positive impact of PBL for both parties. “This activity is not only a learning process for students but also contributes to improving public health quality in Depok City. We appreciate the dedication of mentors and students during PBL, which has produced applicable and beneficial programs for the community,” she said.
The closing ceremony of PBL 1 and 2, Community Nutrition Practicum, and Environmental Health Fieldwork for the 2022 cohort was attended by FPH UI lecturers and students, as well as representatives from the Depok and Bogor City Health Offices and Bapperida Bogor City.
