Depok, September 16, 2025 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from 46 students of Al Wildan Islamic School 10 Jakarta. Held at the Doctoral Promotion Room of FPH UI, the visit served as an opportunity for students to get to know more about the Faculty of Public Health while expanding their understanding of higher education and potential career paths in the health sector.
The students were received by the Education Manager and the Heads of Undergraduate Study Programs at FPH UI. Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., Education Manager of FPH UI, opened the session by introducing FPH UI’s profile, its role in advancing public health science, and the learning opportunities available for students. “We hope this visit broadens your perspective on the importance of public health and provides a clearer picture of what it’s like to study at FPH UI—so that one day you can contribute to addressing the nation’s health challenges together with FPH,” said Dr. Laila.
Furthermore, dr. Fathimah S. Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D., Head of the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, explained the program’s profile, the vital role of nutrition in public health, and how students can contribute to solving nutrition-related problems in Indonesia. “Nutrition issues are not only about food but also related to lifestyle, environment, and policy. We want to show that nutrition graduates play a strategic role in creating a healthier society,” explained dr. Fathimah.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si., Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program, shared insights on the importance of managing a healthy environment to support population health, including current issues such as climate change and waste management. “Human health cannot be separated from environmental health. Through this field, students learn how to maintain balance so that the environment continues to support the quality of human life,” said Dr. Ema.
Through this visit, students from Al Wildan Islamic School 10 Jakarta not only gained academic insights but also motivation to pursue higher education in public health. FPH UI hopes that this visit will inspire young generations to take an active role in building a healthier society, in line with FPH UI’s vision to be a noble-minded and high-performing institution.
