Depok, September 16, 2025 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Siliwangi University (Unsil), for a benchmarking visit on the development of the Integrity Zone (IZ). The event took place in Building A RIK P209 and was attended by the leadership and IZ management teams from both universities.
The Unsil delegation was led by the Dean, Dian Saraswati; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Sri Maywati; Vice Dean for Finance and General Administration, Iseu Siti Aisyah; and a nine-member IZ team. They were warmly received by Dr. Milla Herdayati, Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at FPH UI; Prof. Sabarinah Prasetyo, FPH UI’s inspirational figure for the Integrity Zone; Faculty Secretary, Nelasari, M.K.M.; along with members of the FPH UI IZ team representing all work units.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Milla emphasized that the visit served as an important platform for sharing best practices while also reminding FPH UI of the areas that need to be maintained and strengthened in preparation for achieving the Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Zone (WBBM) designation.
“The development of the Integrity Zone has become a performance contract from the university to the faculties. Currently, UI is also holding the UI ZI Award to encourage and appreciate work units committed to achieving and maintaining the Integrity Zone (IZ) titles — the Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) and the Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Zone (WBBM).
When FPH UI was first appointed in 2020 to participate in the IZ program, it was chosen because it was not too large or too small in scale, making it a suitable model for replication by other faculties. The most challenging aspect of IZ development is endurance — maintaining our commitment to its implementation. Achieving a title is merely a bonus; the true goal is continuous improvement and integrity in daily service and the three pillars of higher education,” said Dr. Milla.
The event continued with a presentation by Prof. Sabarinah Prasetyo, who shared FPH UI’s strategies in building the IZ toward achieving WBK status. She presented an A-to-Z guide of effective practices and tips from FPH UI’s experience.
“It is important for us to be confident — even proud — in presenting what our unit has achieved. We must also ensure the involvement of everyone within the unit. Innovation is equally crucial. For instance, we held the FPH UI Mars Competition as an innovation that significantly strengthened IZ internalization. Additionally, maintaining the accessibility and transparency of the faculty’s website is vital,” Prof. Sabarinah explained.
The Unsil team actively engaged in discussions, exploring the strategies presented by Dr. Milla and Prof. Sabarinah while expressing their appreciation for FPH UI’s achievements. Unsil’s Dean shared her positive impression:
“Unsil has seven faculties, but only the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences has achieved IZ recognition so far. We chose FPH UI for this visit because of our shared academic background. We learned a great deal from FPH UI’s experience. Many of your best practices have inspired us as we continue developing the Integrity Zone within Siliwangi University. We hope this collaboration and communication will continue in the future,” she stated.
The visit concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session as symbols of friendship and collaboration between the two universities. This event is expected to mark the beginning of a broader partnership in building professional and integrity-driven higher education governance. (sf)
