International Accreditation from AHPGS for FPH UI’s Undergraduate Nutrition Program and Master’s Program in Occupational Health and Safety

Depok, October 20, 2025 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) has once again achieved remarkable international recognition. Two study programs within FPH UI have successfully obtained international accreditation from the Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS), a globally recognized accreditation body based in Germany specializing in health and social sciences. This accomplishment follows three other study programs that had previously earned the same accreditation since 2022—namely, the Undergraduate Program in Public Health, the Master’s Program in Public Health Sciences, and the Master’s Program in Hospital Administration Studies.

The two programs newly accredited by AHPGS are the Undergraduate Program in Nutrition and the Master’s Program in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). This success reaffirms FPH UI’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of education, research, and academic services that meet international standards. The accreditation for both programs will remain valid for five years, until September 30, 2030.

In her statement, Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., expressed her gratitude and appreciation to everyone involved in the process. “This achievement is the result of the collective hard work of all members of FPH UI’s academic community. The AHPGS accreditation is not only a recognition of our academic excellence but also a motivation to continuously strive for excellence in providing public health education that is relevant to both national and global challenges. We hope this milestone inspires all study programs at FPH UI to keep improving and embrace a culture of continuous quality enhancement toward a more excellent and impactful UI,” stated Prof. Mondastri.

The AHPGS accreditation process involved a comprehensive evaluation of the curriculum, teaching system, human resources, facilities, and program governance. The AHPGS assessor team also conducted a site visit on June 2–3, 2025, engaging in discussions with university leaders, faculty management, lecturers, students, alumni, and external partners to ensure compliance with international quality standards.

This achievement further strengthens FPH UI’s position as one of the leading public health faculties in Southeast Asia. In addition to enhancing the competitiveness of its graduates, the accreditation also opens broader opportunities for international collaboration in education, research, and community engagement.

By earning the AHPGS accreditation, FPH UI reaffirms its commitment to realizing its vision of becoming a globally competitive and excellent faculty of public health that contributes meaningfully to improving the health and well-being of the Indonesian people. (sf)
