The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from the students of SMA Plus Pembangunan Jaya on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Doctoral Promotion Room at FPH UI. This visit was part of a program designed to introduce high school students to the world of higher education and broaden their horizons regarding study options at the university level.

During the visit, 68 students from SMA Plus Pembangunan Jaya were warmly welcomed by the Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M. Dr. Laila provided information about the undergraduate programs offered at FPH UI, including the Bachelor of Public Health Program, the Bachelor of Nutrition Program, the Bachelor of Environmental Health Program, and the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program.

“Our study programs have received excellent accreditation (A) from LAMPT-Kes, which demonstrates the quality of education and our commitment to producing outstanding graduates in the field of public health. In addition, two of our undergraduate programs, Public Health and Nutrition, have also received international accreditation,” Dr. Laila stated.

Dr. Laila also explained the curriculum, areas of focus, and career opportunities that graduates from FPH UI’s undergraduate programs can pursue. This explanation aimed to provide the students with a clear understanding of how FPH UI could be the right choice for continuing their education in public health.

Furthermore, Dr. Laila provided general information about FPH UI, including a brief history and the achievements it has attained over the years. As one of the leading faculties in Indonesia, FPH UI has contributed to producing high-quality, globally competitive public health professionals. She also introduced the supporting learning facilities, such as laboratories, libraries, and international student exchange programs, to give the students a complete picture of the learning environment at FPH UI.

The event was interactive, with many questions raised by the students regarding the admission process, scholarship programs, and internship opportunities available to FPH UI students. The enthusiasm shown by the students of SMA Plus Pembangunan Jaya reflected their strong interest in the field of public health.

It is hoped that this visit will inspire the students to continue their education in public health and contribute to improving health quality in the future. FPH UI remains committed to supporting programs that aim to introduce public health to the younger generation, as part of efforts to build awareness and readiness in facing global challenges in the health sector.
