Ready to Serve Society, FPH UI Bids Farewell to Graduates of the Even Semester Academic Year 2024/2025

Depok, August 30, 2025 — The graduation ceremony was not merely a formality, but a significant moment for the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) in sending off its graduates as they embark on a new chapter of service to society. FPH UI held the Graduation Ceremony for the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2024/2025 on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the G Hall, FPH UI Building.

This event symbolized more than just the completion of studies; it also reflected FPH UI’s commitment to ensuring that its graduates contribute to addressing public health challenges, both nationally and globally.

In her remarks, Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., emphasized that graduates represent the generation who will help shape Indonesia’s path toward Indonesia Emas 2045. Graduates of FPH UI are expected to serve as key actors in the transformation of public health, particularly in the areas of health promotion, prevention, and primordial prevention.

The Dean also highlighted the importance of graduates’ readiness in facing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0, where mastery of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics becomes essential in designing evidence-based health policies with greater precision and scope.

However, Prof. Mondastri stressed that soft skills are just as important as technological expertise. Interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities, along with adaptability to social change, are essential for graduates entering the workforce.

“Beyond technological literacy, graduates must continue honing networking skills, collaboration, and the spirit of lifelong learning. Lifelong learning involves learning, unlearning, and relearning. This is the key to a successful career in the future,” said the Dean.

Prof. Mondastri also presented the graduation statistics for the Even Semester of Academic Year 2024/2025. At the postgraduate level, there were 252 master’s graduates and 24 doctoral graduates. Of these, 98 master’s graduates (39%) and 17 doctoral graduates (71%) earned Cum Laude honors. Meanwhile, at the undergraduate level, 279 graduates were conferred degrees, with 198 (71%) graduating Cum Laude. These achievements reflect not only the academic excellence of students but also the strong support from FPH UI faculty.

She entrusted the graduates with the responsibility of upholding the good name of their alma mater wherever they go—whether as policymakers, academics, industry practitioners, or community empowerment activists. Graduates of FPH UI are expected to become role models who embody the values of UI while contributing to improving the nation’s health.

“I entrust the banner of FPH UI to be raised across the nation and even abroad. Continue perfecting yourselves, expanding knowledge, and building noble character with devotion to God Almighty,” Prof. Mondastri urged.

The Dean’s message resonated with that of the Chairman of the FPH UI Alumni Association (ILUNI FPH UI), Idris Ahmad, S.K.M. In his speech, he expressed pride in welcoming the graduates as part of the ILUNI FPH UI family. He emphasized the alumni spirit of “Makara Ungu Saling Bantu”—a breath of togetherness that reminds everyone that the greatest strength lies in collectivity, not individualism. According to him, this message is especially relevant in today’s uncertain era, where solidarity and networking are crucial to moving forward. Idris also underlined that FPH UI graduates hold a unique distinction, as FPH is the only faculty at UI that bears the word “public” (masyarakat), symbolizing their vital role in advancing public health and community well-being.

In addition to speeches from the Dean and ILUNI Chairman, representatives from each academic level also delivered their messages. Shamim Thahir Ahmad from the Bachelor of Public Health Program spoke on behalf of undergraduate graduates, Ni Luh Putu Arum Puspitaning Ati from the Master of Public Health Program represented master’s graduates, and Meilisa Rahmadani from the Doctoral Program in Public Health Sciences represented doctoral graduates.

Through this graduation ceremony, FPH UI reaffirmed its commitment to accompanying students until they become graduates who are excellent, ethical, and globally competitive. The presence of graduates from the Even Semester Academic Year 2024/2025 is expected to become a driving force in advancing public health toward a healthier, fairer, and more prosperous Indonesia.
