The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) continues to pursue internationalization for its study programs. One of the efforts made is by undergoing program accreditation from internationally recognized accreditation bodies such as AHPGS.
AHPGS, or the Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (Akkreditierungsagentur im Bereich Gesundheit und Soziales), is a German accreditation agency based in Freiburg. AHPGS is registered with the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) and is a member of several quality assurance networks, such as ECA (European Consortium for Accreditation), ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
FPH UI successfully obtained international accreditation from AHPGS for three of its programs: the Bachelor of Public Health program, the Master of Public Health program, and the Master of Hospital Administration program in 2023. After undergoing the accreditation process, FPH UI shared its best practices with partner universities.
On Monday, October 28, 2024, FPH UI hosted a study visit from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Brawijaya University. Welcomed at the PA 209 Meeting Room in the RIK UI Building, the visit aimed to conduct a study visit related to the AHPGS international accreditation process, including the registration process, preparation, document collection, site visit, and the certification process.
“FPH UI is pleased to welcome the distinguished guests from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Brawijaya University. Through this discussion, we hope to share the best practices that we have implemented in applying for international accreditation from AHPGS for our three study programs,” said Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs at FPH UI. In addition to her welcome speech, Dr. Asih also gave a general overview of the AHPGS accreditation received by FPH UI.
Meanwhile, the technical presentation regarding the process was delivered by the Manager of the Quality Assurance Unit at FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Besral, S.K.M., M.Sc., while the substance-related presentation was conducted by Dr. Zakianis, S.K.M., M.K.M. In addition to the presentations, there was further discussion related to the information needed by the visitors. The discussions covered topics such as how to prepare the Executive Summary (ES) and Self Evaluation Report (SER), as well as the AHPGS site visit process.
