Strengthening Networks, FPH UI Explores Strategic Collaboration with Mitra Keluarga Depok Hospital

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a collaborative visit from Mitra Keluarga Depok Hospital at the RIK Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Building A. This meeting marked the initial step toward exploring a strategic partnership between a higher education institution and a leading healthcare provider, particularly in strengthening health services and implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., along with faculty leadership including the Vice Deans, Managers, Heads of Departments, and Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs. Representing Mitra Keluarga Depok Hospital were Dr. Nendya Libriyani, M.A.R.S., and Marketing Account Executive Jenika Romian.

In his remarks, Prof. Mondastri expressed appreciation for the promptness and quality of services offered by Mitra Keluarga Hospital, which is also a preferred referral hospital for Mandiri Inhealth, frequently used by FPH UI staff and students. “We are not tied to just one provider, but we adjust based on the needs of our community,” Prof. Mondastri noted.

FPH UI is also planning several specialized health screening activities such as mammography and prostate examinations to detect disease risks early. Mitra Keluarga Hospital could become a strategic partner in these developing plans. Prof. Mondastri added that the collaboration is expected to go beyond health services, extending into education, research, and community service. “As a university, we are committed to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. We are open to mutually beneficial collaboration, such as access to hospital data for research and contributing our findings to improve hospital services,” he added.

The representatives from Mitra Keluarga Depok welcomed the potential collaboration. “We are ready to collaborate with FPH UI, not only in healthcare services but also in education and research,” said Dr. Nendya Libriyani. She also presented the hospital’s key services, including health and vascular, urology center, oncology center, stroke center, and digestive center. The hospital is also open to supporting sports and preventive health needs for the academic community.

Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., Academic Manager at FPH UI, and Dr. Fathimah S. Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D., Head of the Department of Nutrition, also expressed interest in establishing educational partnerships, especially for student field learning and internships. “We hope Mitra Keluarga Depok Hospital can be a partner for our Field Learning Practices (PBL), particularly in areas such as nutrition, environmental health, and occupational health and safety,” said Dr. Laila.

This visit highlights the synergy between higher education and healthcare services, which is expected to bring positive impacts to both institutions. (wrk)
