Depok, July 23, 2025 – Universitas Indonesia (UI) distributed Performance Achievement Incentives (IPK) to lecturers and administrative staff through representatives from each unit. This initiative reflects the university leadership’s commitment to employee well-being as a foundation for enhancing the overall quality of UI.
“This step is part of UI’s effort to improve the quality of internationally competitive education, which in turn will boost the university’s revenue,” said UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, during the IPK handover ceremony for lecturers and staff at UI’s Depok Campus on Wednesday (23/7).
Prof. Heri further expressed hope that UI’s growing academic and research quality on the global stage, along with its community engagement programs, would strengthen collaborations with external partners—ultimately generating income for the university. “And eventually, that revenue can be reinvested into improving education, infrastructure, and also the welfare of our lecturers,” he added.
The provision of IPK is part of UI’s broader plan to improve employee welfare. Starting next year, UI will introduce performance-based incentives calculated according to each employee’s achievements. Prof. Heri emphasized the vital role of deans and unit leaders in ensuring fairness and transparency in the incentive distribution process.
“The people who know best are the deans, vice deans, program heads, directors, managers, and unit heads. I ask for your support in making sure that those who perform well and excel can gradually receive the welfare improvements they deserve,” Prof. Heri said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.Si., M.U.P., Ph.D., UI’s Vice-Rector for Planning, Finance, and Resources, explained that the IPK distribution was based on the Rector’s directive to enhance the welfare of UI’s lecturers and administrative staff. Unlike the previous year, this year’s IPK represents 100% of the take-home pay, which includes both salary and allowances.
“For lecturers, the 100% IPK is based on individual performance evaluations covering behavioral metrics and workload excess in the Lecturer Workload Report (BKD). For administrative staff, performance and competency assessments were conducted by their direct supervisors. Starting in 2025, UI aims to provide IPK incentives of up to 4–5 times the base take-home pay for employees who achieve top performance,” said Ahmad Gamal.
The event continued with the symbolic handover of IPK to representatives of lecturers and staff from various faculties. The highest-scoring employees received an IPK equivalent to 150% of their take-home pay. Going forward, UI remains committed to continuously enhancing staff welfare and fostering a positive and supportive working environment for the entire academic community.
The “Performance Incentive Awarding Ceremony” was attended by UI leaders, including: Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N., Vice-Rector for Infrastructure and Facilities; Prof. Dr. Rizal E. Halim, S.E., M.E., Head of Quality Assurance and Internal Audit; Prof. dr.
