Friday, 24 February 2023, the University of Indonesia (UI) Faculty of Public Health (FPH) held an Integrated Development Post (Posbindu) for Non-Communicable Diseases (PTM) for the second time. PTM Posbindu which is named Posbindu Griseta (Griya Sehat Kita) consists of two series of activities, namely health talks and mini medical check-ups.
The health talk which was held in a hybrid manner in Hall A of FPH UI and the Zoom Meeting with the theme “Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases” is a collaboration between Posbindu Griseta, InHealth, and Mitra Keluarga Hospital. “Having this health talk seminar is a form of our charity as knowledgeable people. It is hoped that activities such as health talks and a series of other Posbindu Griseta activities can help deal with non-communicable diseases in Indonesia,” said Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc., in her speech online.
“Non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, stroke and hypertension, are increasing in cases. Not only experienced by the elderly, but now even teenagers can get PTM. Therefore, FPH UI as a public health education institution also contributes to handling NCDs, one of which is through this Griseta Posbindu,” said Dr. Ir. Trini Sudiarti, M.Sc., as Head of PTM Griseta Posbindu.
The seminar speaker was a doctor from Mitra Keluarga Hospital, dr. Mustika Dian Permana, Sp.PD. Doctor Permana said that currently there is an epidemiological transition. The trend of non-communicable diseases is increasing, both in terms of case prevalence and death rates. “Actually, prevention of PTM is easy, it can be done by adopting a healthy lifestyle. However, the Indonesian people are still unable to be disciplined in this matter,” said dr. Mustika Dian Permana. Indonesia itself already has a PTM prevention and control program called the Healthy Indonesia Program. This program consists of four strategies, one of which is the promotion of PTM prevention based on the life cycle for PTM risk.
After the health talk seminar, there was also a mini medical check-up which was held offline in lobby A of the FPH UI and was attended by the FPH UI extended family such as lecturers, staff, students and even retirees. The PTM Griseta Posbindu is expected to be able to assist in handling non-communicable diseases within FPH UI. (WR)
