Thursday, 8 December 2022, the Dean and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) attended a meeting with the Riau Provincial Health Office. The meeting, which was held as a mix at the Riau Provincial Health Office and through the zoom meeting platform, aims to formalize the collaboration and program socialization between FPH UI and the Riau Health Office.
”Human Resources (HR) in the world of singable health has a very important meaning. Qualified human resources are needed to run a good health system. Therefore, we (Riau Health Office) are working with FPH UI to provide the best education for our workforce in the hope that the Riau Health Service can have quality human resources,” said the Head of the Riau Health Service, H. Zainal Arifin, S.K.M., M. Kes., in his speech.
Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., then welcomed the intentions and goals of the Riau Health Service. “FPH UI is ready to participate actively and will prepare the Riau Health Office’s workforce education program as well as possible. It takes enthusiasm and motivation from the participants so that this program can run effectively,” said Prof. Mondastri. The signing of the cooperation and the awarding of placards were also carried out as a symbol of the inauguration of the cooperation.
The program socialization series began with a presentation regarding the University of Indonesia by the Deputy Dean of FPH UI, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, MS.c. Doctor Asih explained UI comprehensively, starting from its faculties and study programs, existing facilities, selection pathways, and others. The next presentation about the Master of Public Health Sciences was delivered by the Head of the Public Health Masters Study Program, Dr. Budi Hartono, S.Sc., M.K.M., with an emphasis on information on what competencies are obtained from lectures and how the lecture system is for the master program at FPH UI.
Head of Epidemiology Masters Study Program, Dr. dr. Helda, M. Kes., continued with an explanation about the Masters in Epidemiology, then closed with an explanation from the Doctor of Public Health Sciences Program by Dr. dr. Rita Damayanti, MSPH. The socialization participants looked very enthusiastic and asked FPH UI many questions.
This collaboration proves that FPH UI is committed to creating quality Indonesian public health workers. The hope is that this program collaboration can have a meaningful impact on FPH UI, the Riau Health Office, and the Indonesian people. (WR)
