On Wednesday, 23 August 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) again held an online collaboration meeting with the School of Public Health National University of Singapore (NUS). Previously, in June 2023, FPH UI had directly visited SPH-NUS to conduct a cooperation assessment meeting.
At this follow-up meeting, which was held online, FPH UI and SPH-NUS discussed potential collaborations that could be carried out immediately by both parties. Through this discussion, Prof. Teo Yik Ying, Dean of SPH-NUS, proposed several things, including implementing public health case studies and global health classes. This public health case study is expected to involve students from both universities who will build research teams to research public health problems in different countries. The case studies are later expected to be used as part of the material in class (collaboration).
Apart from that, FPH UI has also proposed several programs that are feasible to do, including mobility programs and joint publications. “The strengths of the two universities, UI and NUS, include the existence of various faculties which make them comprehensive. The two universities can provide broad, thorough, thorough insights and cover many things,” said Prof. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, Dean of FPH UI.
This meeting is the opening meeting for more detailed discussions regarding the cooperation scheme that will be carried out by both parties. FPH UI hopes that, through this collaboration, it can provide broad benefits for both faculty, teaching staff and students through the programs that will be implemented.
Present at this collaboration meeting were the Dean of SPH-NUS, Prof. Teo Yik Ying; Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Manager of Collaboration, Alumni and Venture Relations FPH UI, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D., Heads and Secretaries of Departments, and Heads of Study Programs.
