Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the University of Indonesia (UI) received a study visit from 2 schools at the same time, namely MAN Insan Cendekia OKI, Palembang and SMA Negeri 34 Jakarta. A total of approximately 200 combined students from the two secondary schools were accepted into the Hall of Building A FPH UI.
“It is an honor that FPH UI can receive study visits from students not only from Jakarta but also from students far from Palembang. We hope that what we convey will be the provision for younger siblings to enter higher education later,” said Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., Academic Manager of FPH UI in her remarks.
Apart from Dr. Laila Fitria, also attended the Secretary of the FPH UI Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Al Asyary, S.K.M., M.P.H.; FPH UI Education Administration Unit Coordinator, Amalia Kuswarjanti, S.K.M.; Staff of the Educational Administration Unit/S1 Public Health Study Program FPH UI, Bangga Agung Satrya, S.K.M., as a resource person in this activity. The three informants sequentially explained about the Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program, General Profile of the FPH UI Undergraduate Study Program, and Public Health Undergraduate Study Program. In addition to the profile of the undergraduate study program, in the explanation of the speakers, information was also conveyed regarding UI admission selection, scholarships, student activities, and job prospects for graduates.
Students from both secondary schools enthusiastically participated in the study visit. Many questions were submitted to the speakers including regarding scholarships, achievement pathways, the role of FPH UI students/alumni in the construction sector, the role of environmental health students in the community, and the difference between public health nutrition and clinical nutrition.
