Thursday, 23 February 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH), University of Indonesia (UI) held a Scientific Writing (KTI) writing training for prospective students with achievements. This training was held in a hybrid manner in smart class A 101.
The speaker for the training was Helen Andriani, S.Sc., Apt., M.Sc., Ph.D., Lecturer at the Department of Health Administration and Policy (AKK) FPH UI who has been a jury for the Outstanding Student Selection event for two years in a row. (Pilmapres) FPH UI. Dr. Helen was invited as a speaker in this training with the aim of providing training substance in accordance with the National Pilmapres guidelines.
Dr. Helen opened her presentation by explaining the 2022 Undergraduate Program Pilmapres guidelines, “At FPH UI, assessments usually refer to these guidelines,” said Dr. Helen. Dr. Helen explained comprehensively starting from the writing guidelines to the assessment system from KTI or what was called Creative Ideas (GK) in this event.
Writing Pilmapres Creative Ideas is slightly different from writing Scientific Papers (KTI) in general. Creative ideas must go hand in hand with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. More than that, the ideas provided must also be mature and implementable, complete with a budget plan and human resource structure. Pilmapres participants must be able to identify the current situation and how the solutions provided can resolve existing imperfections. “In writing the KTI Pilmapres, you must be able to describe the potential of the chosen environment with reliable supporting data/facts,” added Dr. Helen.
After explaining the Pilmapres guidelines, Dr. Helen continued by showing an example of KTI belonging to UI’s Main Achievement Student for the 2022 Undergraduate Program, Dhifan Kemal Akbar. This section is important because with it, the participants have a complete picture of how to write KTI Pilmapres.
The Pilmapres event is a prestigious event which is held every year. Therefore, FPH UI provides a forum for prospective applicants to increase capacity. The organizing of the Pilmapres KTI Writing Training was also assisted by the FPH UI Ready Mapres (Simapres) community. A community that contains FPH Outstanding Students from the previous year and aims to train Prospective Outstanding Students.
After the implementation of this training, the participants still must pass a series of FPH and UI level selection to be able to advance to the National level. (BK)
