Wednesday, 15 February 2023, the University of Indonesia (UI) Faculty of Public Health (FPH) held an offline meeting with the Nusa Cendana University FPH (UNDANA). This meeting aims to sign a cooperation agreement that will be carried out by FPH UI and FPH UNDANA. Present at the meeting was the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc.; Manager of Cooperation, Alumni Relations and Ventures, Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; and Manager of Research and Community Service, Doni Hikmat Ramdhan, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D. Representatives from Nusa Cendana University consisted of two people, namely the Dean of FPH UNDANA, Prof. Dr. Apris A. Adu, Spt., M.Kes., and Deputy Dean II of FPH UNDANA, Dr. Marilyn S. Junias, S.T., M.Kes.
“We hope that this collaboration can further strengthen networks with colleagues in eastern Indonesia. Hopefully FPH UI and FPH UNDANA can establish friendship and closer cooperation to share, support and advance each other,” said Prof. dr. Mondastri in his speech.
Prof. Dr. Apris from UNDANA also said that eastern Indonesia, especially Kupang, is a special area. “We have great maritime potential. In addition, the East Nusa Tenggara region also still has a high number of cases of zoonotic diseases, such as malaria. It is hoped that FPH UI can contribute in terms of research in eastern Indonesia,” he said.
The scope of the Cooperation Agreement between FPH UI and FPH UNDANA includes supporting programs for higher education tri dharma, such as in the education sector, including: internships/field work practices and the like, which are carried out for 1 semester; scientific forums in the field of Public Health in supporting human resource improvement and development activities, such as: (1) Scientific Meetings, (2) Training, (3) Workshops, (4) Seminars, (5) Symposiums, (6) Workshops, ( 7) Assessment, and/or other activities in the field of education and human resource development. While in the research field, research activities, analysis, studies, program evaluations, and/or case studies will be carried out by lecturers and students in the field of public health; as well as a program for developing measuring tools in the field of public health. Then in the field of community service, joint activities will be carried out between lecturers and students to carry out community service activities and utilize the availability of human resources in this case lecturers and students in supporting institutional/community/community empowerment such as training, workshops, seminars, symposiums, workshops, and assessment, as well as transfer of results/products of the development of creativity and science and technology innovation (IPTEK).
The event continued with the signing of the collaboration between FPH UI and FPH UNDANA. It is hoped that FPH UI can contribute to advancing and improving public health throughout Indonesia, especially eastern Indonesia, one of which is through this collaboration. (WR)
