Amid a dense academic environment, Amira Puji Hastuti stands out as a student who is able to balance academic excellence with meaningful contributions to her surrounding community. A student of the Bachelor’s Program in Nutrition at the Faculty of Public Health (FPH), University of Indonesia, she achieved 3rd Place in the University of Indonesia Student Achievement (Mapres) competition. This accomplishment reflects a long journey of dedication and hard work.
For Amira, achievement is not the final goal but rather the result of consistency in learning, organizing, and contributing. Since the beginning of her studies, she has shown a strong interest in public health issues, particularly those related to youth and global health sustainability.
This passion led her to establish Youth in Public Health, an initiative that serves as a collaborative space for young people to learn, discuss, and contribute to public health issues. She further expanded her impact by founding The Growth Sphere, a self-development platform focused on strengthening youth capacity to compete globally.
Amira’s engagement is also evident in international forums. She has served as Head Chair in various prestigious conferences such as the International Model United Nations (MUN) 2025 and Montgomery MUN. These roles required strong leadership, communication skills, and a deep understanding of global issues—all of which she demonstrated effectively.
Her international achievements include Honorable Mention (2nd Winner) at the Paris International Model United Nations and 3rd Best Speaker at the Global Youth MIDORI Speech Contest. In innovation and research, she has earned 1st Winner in the Planetary Health Challenge and 1st Winner in the Public Health International Competition, further highlighting her capacity as a student who is not only academically strong but also solution-oriented.
Her interest in environmental health issues also led her to receive a Distinction Award as 1st Winner in the ASEAN Geospatial Challenge and to speak at the Planetary Health Annual Meeting. She has also been a recipient of various international grants and funding opportunities, including from ChildFund International Youth Innovation and the #GirlsDeserveFutures Youth Innovation Challenge, which support the development of her innovative ideas.
At the national level, Amira has been actively involved in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and secured funding under the Entrepreneurship PKM scheme through her innovation titled MOZENA. This initiative demonstrates her ability to integrate nutrition science with entrepreneurial approaches to deliver practical solutions for the community.
Currently, Amira is leading her latest project: an education and screening program for gastrointestinal disorders in children with intellectual disabilities. The program has received funding support of IDR 65 million from ChildFund International. Through this initiative, she aims to increase awareness and early detection of digestive health issues in a group of children who are often underserved in healthcare services. The project not only reflects her commitment to inclusive health issues but also reinforces her role as a change agent creating direct community impact.
For Amira, every achievement is part of a continuous learning process. She believes that the courage to start, the willingness to grow, and the commitment to create meaningful impact are the key foundations for success.
Her achievement as 3rd Place in the UI Mapres competition is not only a personal milestone but also an inspiration for the academic community of FPH UI and for young people in Indonesia. Through her consistent and impactful journey, Amira Puji Hastuti demonstrates that students can become agents of change who contribute not only at the national level but also globally. (wrk)
