Depok, March 30, 2026 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) held its Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri Halalbihalal gathering on Monday, March 30, 2026, under the theme “Eid al-Fitr: A Momentum for Self-Improvement and Strengthening Integrity.” The event was attended by the entire FPH UI community, including lecturers, educational staff, students, alumni, retirees, as well as security and cleaning personnel.
Held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the gathering served as both a moment of togetherness and post-Ramadan reflection. The Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D., delivered opening remarks emphasizing the importance of using Eid al-Fitr as a starting point for strengthening integrity.
In her speech, Prof. Indri stated that Eid al-Fitr is a moment to return to one’s pure nature while improving personal character after the month of Ramadan. She emphasized that integrity—which includes honesty, discipline, and responsibility—must continue to be upheld not only in academic settings but also in everyday professional conduct. She also encouraged the academic community to strengthen collaboration and maintain solidarity as essential elements in addressing increasingly complex public health challenges.
The Halalbihalal event also featured a religious sermon delivered by Dr. H. Aang Ridwan, M.Ag., Head of the Da’wah Laboratory at the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. In his sermon, Dr. Aang invited attendees to reflect deeply on aspects of life that are often overlooked.
“What often destroys us before Allah is our lack of awareness of time. Yet Allah swears by time in many verses of the Qur’an, showing how precious time is in human life,” he explained.
He further reminded the audience of the importance of being mindful of one’s age. “Do not let our age increase while we drift further away from goodness. There is a warning for those who grow older yet remain neglectful of Allah’s commands,” he said.
In addition, awareness of one’s deeds was highlighted as another important point in the sermon. According to him, every individual should continuously strive to do good deeds as provisions for life before Allah. He also stressed the importance of maintaining acts of worship as one of the keys to wisdom in life.
“If we wish to erase our sins and become better individuals, then we must preserve our worship—in terms of its quantity, quality, and consistency,” he added.
Through the sermon, attendees were reminded that Eid al-Fitr serves as a moment for every individual to remain conscious of three essential aspects: time, age, and deeds, as foundations for self-improvement and strengthening faith.
This Halalbihalal gathering is expected not only to strengthen the bonds of friendship within the FPH UI community, but also to reinforce the commitment of all members of the academic community to uphold integrity and positive values in everyday life. (wrk)
